Terminology

• Alpha: the leaders of the pack. Generally the strongest or the most cunning individuals of the pack. All of the alphas bear an Alpha's Mark resembling a paw print on their left shoulder.
• Alpha's Mark: a paw-print shaped mark on the left shoulder of the alpha wolves of a pack.
• Bèta: the second-in-command of a typical pack.
• Change, (the): the transformation from wolf form to human form and vice versa
• Gatekeeper: the Wolf-Born responsible for welcoming (or eliminating) newcomers to the Wolf-Born Land Astatica. The Gatekeeper will also provide newcomers with food, water, short-term shelter and medical care if necessary. The very first Gatekeeper appointed by the Guardians was Shadow.
• Guardian's Mark: a toppled over crescent mark that adorns a Guardian's forehead. Once the mark appears, it will never disappear.
  Synonyms: Guardian's Crescent 
• Greyback: 1: a term used for wolves of the Greyback pack. 2: A nickname of the Greyback alpha male Cayen (The Greyback)
• Omega: the lowest ranking wolf in a pack. Generally the weakest and shiest individual in the pack.
